Can I paint my Springdale house white?
Not under the current palette. Springdale's color standards in Town Code section 10-17-4 use the Munsell system, and the town prohibits both bright, saturated colors and very light colors. White sits at the top of the Munsell value scale, outside the permitted band for building surfaces. The palette does allow a wide range of hues at low chroma, so there are light-reading warm neutrals available, but they are meaningfully darker than an off-the-shelf white. Check a candidate against the town's palette before ordering, because staff can identify the acceptable range for the hue you want.
What is the Munsell system and why does Springdale use it?
Munsell describes a color with three numbers instead of a brand name: hue (which color family), chroma (how saturated) and value (how light, essentially how much light it reflects).
